OUR PUPPY PROCESS:
Owning a puppy is a serious commitment. We encourage new pup owners to use the many resources available on our website and online to help with training and proper care of your new AKC Labrador Retriever pup.
We are so grateful for all those who show interest in purchasing one of our Sunrise Mt. Labrador pups but we want potential pet owners to be well prepared in order to provide a healthy and happy home for these tremendous Labrador Retrievers. Bringing home a new pup is a serious commitment that requires much thought and preparation.
Great pups need great homes! We urge future owners to prepare well and make sure that you have the right set up and resources to welcome your new pup. Before beginning the journey of considering a new pup, make sure you are ready. Labrador Retrievers make amazing and adorable home companions. Typical lead time for a new pup is 6-12 months and it really is an exciting journey as you await the arrival of your new AKC English Labrador Retriever.
LIMITED VS. FULL REGISTRATION
At Sunrise Mt. Labradors all of our puppies come with a written AKC limited registration certificate.
According to Chapter 3, Section 4A of the AKC’s Rules Applying to Registration and Discipline states the following: “may be requested for a dog when application for individual registration of the dog is submitted, provided the application, together with a request for such limitation, is filed by the owner(s) of the litter at birth. No offspring of a dog for which has been granted is eligible for registration. Each registration certificate for such dog shall carry notice of the limitation, and the limitation shall continue, regardless of any change of ownership, unless and until the owner(s) of the litter at birth shall apply to AKC for removal of the limitation.”
A dog registered with an AKC Limited Registration is not eligible for showing breed competition in a licensed or member dog show. However, it is eligible to be entered in any other licensed or member event. Some of these events include: Obedience, Rally, Agility, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Earthdog, Fast Cat, CAT, Scentwork, Junior Showmanship, Trick Dog and CGC.
Limited Registration is determined at purchase by Sunrise Mt. Labradors and Limited box will be checked on the AKC Dog Registration Application.
AKC Limited Registration certificates are white with an orange border.
PURCHASE INFORMATION:
After pups are born, we will send pictures of the new litter pups ever two-three weeks so that you can see them growing up!
Due to high demand, many of our pups are sold before or just after they are born, so we operate on a first come first serve basis with all reservations. Although we take requests for gender and color, every litter is different and we grant requests in order of receipt.
At Sunrise Mt. Labradors, we require a non-refundable deposit of $500. We don't take deposits until after our Veterinarian has confirmed pregnancy of the new litter. After your reservation is placed with your deposit, remaining balance is due when you pick up your pup at 8 weeks of age.
We love to send out pictures every 2-3 weeks via email so you can see your pup grow and develop from the beginning. It is exciting and amazing to see these adorable Labradors grow and interact!
In order to protect the health and delicate immune systems of the newborn pups, we do not allow in-person site visits prior to 8 weeks.
Please email us for pricing on the particular litter you are interested in. Litters are priced based on breed pair matching and prices may vary according to the litter. We carefully select each breeding pair nationwide!
